Though you can copy the Backup folder, you should never move it to a different folder, external drive, or network drive. The location of the Backup folder varies by operating system. Finder and iTunes save backups to a Backup folder.To avoid ruining any of your backup files, here's what you should know:

Control-click on the backup that you want to access and select Show in Finder. Copy and paste the following: /Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ and hit Return. On a Windows PC, iTunes stores its backups in this folder. Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ This is in the Library folder in the home folder that's the folder with the house icon and your user name.
